This major new work is the second part of an important new series, Early Responses to Hume's Writings, a collection of 18th and 19th-century critical publications on Hume's philosophical, political, economic and historical writings. The themes of the two volumes printed here are the replies to Hume's metaphysical philosophy and epistemology. James Fieser teaches philosophy at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and is founder-editor of the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. His many publications include the highly acclaimed Early Responses to Hume series (10 vols, Thoemmes Press, 1999-2003)
