In the 1960s Jimmy Evans was one of Britain's leading safe-blowers, his own boss in an era when London's underworld was dominated by parasitical gangs such as the Krays and Richardsons. He had no gang affiliations, yet the Kray Twins respected him and treated him as an equal. To Jimmy they were just "Mickey Mouse Mobsters". In 1964 Jimmy's world fell apart. He discovered that his wife was having an affair with George Foreman, brother of the notorious gangland killer, Freddie Foreman. Caring nothing for "Brown Bread" Fred's lethal reputation, Jimmy shotgunned George at his front door, depriving him of his manhood. Among the criminal fraternity this should have been accepted as a "crime passionelle", but instead Freddie Foreman embarked on a bloody 10 year vendetta that embraced murder, assassination and arson. Foreman exploited his corrupt relationship with two leading Scotland Yard detectives who were his handlers, protectors and friends. As a result Jimmy was falsely branded "Jack The Stripper", the perpetuator of the infamous "Nude Murders". This title reveals the crooked connections between London's top cops, the gangland bosses and the serial killer they should have locked away. And, 35 years after Scotland Yard declared the Nude Murders "unsolved", the book produces shocking evidence that "Jack the Stripper" may have been one of its own most famous thief-takers.
