This isn't the first book about sketching but it is, as far as I'm aware, at least one of the first to cover the whole process right through. Yes, other books habitually include a chapter on working your sketchbook up into something grander, but this takes the logical step of following each subject from observation right through to the finished painting. Wendy Jelbert is a teacher and professional artist who works in pastels, oils, acrylics, inks and watercolours. She enjoys experimenting with different ways of using mixed media and texture and her sometimes unconventional methods often produce surprising and original results. A member of the SWA (Society of Women Artists) and the SFP (Society of Floral Painters), Wendy lives in Romsey, Hampshire.
