The grocery store is the place where we buy our milk, our bread, our fruit, and our meats. We say hello to the lady who gives our kids a free cookie. We ask for help from the man who butchers our beef or chicken. We smile at the man who sweeps the floors, and we give our money to the young cashier at the registers. The supermarket is the one safe place where we all come together for the exact same purpose. Or Is It? How safe is your produce when its invaded by flies? Where does that delicious, bright red meat actually come from? What happens to the pretty teenager when her long, blonde hair comes exceptionally close to the conveyor belt? How do we know those samples are really fresh? Gruesome Grocery Tales explores the dark side of working and shopping in a seemingly ordinary market place. Each story reveals something twisted and malevolent lying in wait for the average customer whose only task is how to get out of the store alive.

About the Author:
April Maguire is known by many names, April, April Lynn, Ms. April, but especially Mom! She has written and edited a variety of books that are published and distributed through Amazon.com, Kindle, and BarnesandNoble.com. April’s devotion to her family can be seen throughout her many stories as well as her poetry. The passing of her father changed April’s life in deep and consecrated ways. He was the first person to teach her to write, and to carry on despite all adversities. From an early age, her father spurred April on in her creativity and perseverance. Many of April's poems are dedicated to him and the love he shared with his wife and family. The most important and most influential person in April’s life is her son, JayRex. Jay has been her inspiration and the source of her motivation to write and create. When life had distracted April from her true calling, JayRex brought his mother back to her core and challenged her to write a short blog everyday on a community board. The passion flowed again for April, and eventually, she turned her little blurbs into a full length trilogy called, Lighthouse. When she is not working on her next novel or poem, April may be found hanging out with her son, cooking in the kitchen, or writing for her two blogs. With her bright copper hair and sparkling blue eyes, April is hard to miss in a crowd. She enjoys sharing her experiences about writing with others, and hopes to encourage them to fulfill their lifelong dreams too.
