About the Author

Deborah Hopkinson is the award-winning author of numerous critically acclaimed picture books, middle grade fiction, and nonfiction. She lives in Oregon with her familiy and menagerie of pets.

Leonard Jenkins received his BFA from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In addition to illustrating several children's books, he has taught art at universities and after-school programs.
