Review:
Rohr is a wonderfully appealing writer, making past ideas and future hopes open to all. The language uses new concepts, but is everywhere present in an approachable and easy style.I mentioned the three appendices. These are also compelling if advanced ideas. These are very important, and not just tacked on. The appendix dealing with God as a person for instance will provide many people with fruitful thoughts, but may also change them. Richard Rohr's books are always eagerly awaited. In this new hardback, Rohr, himself a Franciscan friar, looks closely at 'the alternative way' of St Francis of Assisi, one of the Christian church's most popular saints. All in all, this is an attractive package with a stunning cover. (Together Magazine)

Good writing has the ability to challenge our assumptions and make us better people. This is why we do what we do. (Together Magazine)
I love books that make you want to put them down and practise what they are preaching. There are times when you may not go along with all of Rohr's theology, but that's OK, as there is so much to glean that is wonderful (Christianity Magazine)
