Stephen Whitlock is proud of his Southern heritage. His book is in honor of his great-great-grandfather, Andrew Carson McKay, who fought with the 56th Alabama Cavalry, Partisan Rangers. My motivation was to educate people about a Civil War soldier who most people knew nothing of, and his importance in history."
