In this book, retreat master and author Jude Winkler reflects on the mysterious reasons for our suffering. Is it the consequence of sin? Does God use it to discipline us? Do we choose it by our free will? Does it just happen? What does Jesus' teaching and life reveal about the nature of our suffering? To answer these and other intriguing questions, the author leads us on a journey through Scripture to discover the sources of our suffering. He concludes with a summary of Christian practical advice that will help us trust God when bad things happen, join our suffering to Christ's suffering, show compassion to others, and grow strong in perseverance.A book for all to read before bad things happen.A gift for anyone enduring any pain of suffering.A handbook for caregivers and pastoral leaders who minister to the sick and suffering.
