Synopsis
Gabi, lonely and single, has been warned to stay away from Hezi, the married womanizer who works in her office. Aviram is a frustrated, middle-aged bachelor who lives with his dog. Eyal is an army conscript who goes AWOL, causing his parents great anguish. Shwartz is an old Ashkenazi hell-bent on keeping his neighborhood free of Sephardic newcomers. And an unnamed elderly stroke survivor in the care of a Filipino maid and her violent lover observes life from the silent cocoon of his wheelchair. About the Author
YEHOSHUA KENAZ lives in Tel Aviv where he works on the editorial staff of the Hebrew daily Ha'aretz. The author of several novels and a collection of stories, Kenaz has won several major prizes and is generally regarded as one of his country's leading novelists. Steerforth Press has previously published Kenaz's masterful novel, The Way to the Cats, and his story collection, Musical Moment.
