In Naked into the Night, Winn Connover leaves his suburban home and family to begin a new life among the Native Americans of the Southwest. In the second book in Joynes' series, Lost in Los Vegas, Connover, now called "Anglo" by the people of the tribe, is tasked by tribal elders to go to Las Vegas and retrieve a prodigal son. Like himself before his spiritual awakening, White Wings is lost in a world of mediocrity and physical vice. Ultimately, it is a shared vision quest which reveals the path home to both Anglo and White Wing. Masterful and compelling fiction from one of the best Visionary Fiction writers of our day.

Racial animosity yields to the common vision of destiny.
The character lost in Las Vegas is a remarkable young Pueblo man, a spiritual prodigy and National Champion Fancy Dancer, who has been corrupted by the glamour of show business. His tribal elders call upon their spiritual brother, an anglo man who was the principal character in NAKED INTO THE NIGHT, to go to Las Vegas in an attempt to restore the young potential leader to his tribe. The mission seems impossible given the mistrust Indians hold for anglo do-gooders and wannabees. Anglo must face the animosity of Dancer, and the proprietary interests of the two Folies Bergere showgirls who manipulate him. In the process, both Indian and Anglo must sort out their destinies which requires that they risk life itself in the Valley of Fire.
After years of research, the truth in this book is more attributive to the grace of vision during the creative process than to the craft of fiction. It was a remarkable experience to write.
