Synopsis
The science-based medicine of the West and the more holistic, people-oriented traditions of healing in the East are often regarded as at variance. In the West, Eastern traditions are often called alternative, as though they bear no relationship to the Western medical model. This book attempts to compare the two traditions, looking at the diverse traditions of healing all over the world, tracing their common roots, and showing how Eastern medicine and Western science are now merging for the benefit of humanity.
