Review:

BookWire Review: December "This book is sure to find the approval of every one who reads it, and is going to find its place amongst classic self-help books. Herbert Harris will with this book be a household name in the manner of Dale Carnegie and Napoleon Hill." Barnesandnoble.com Reviews: Michael O, a Sales Instructor from Chicago: Great book "This by far is one of the most inspiring motivational books I have ever read. I read it from cover to cover and did not want to put it down. The questions from the study guide at the end of each chapter really helped you to reinforce the material. I am going to tell everyone I know about this book. It is awesome."

From the Author:
A book for everyone who aspires to become more successful.
Author’s Comments, March 3, 1999

The Golden 12: Universal Rules for Achieving Success is a well organized treatment of the basic principles of personal success. The broad spectrum of self-help approaches into twelve universal rules laws. These rules are presented showing their biblical foundations, often with metaphysical interpretations.

This book is unique in that it refines and reduces religious and philosophical concepts into step-by-step action principles. It shows ways to improve your self image; overcome obstacles, fear and worry; build your self-discipline; make a success plan that works; a daily formula for achieving your goals; principles of wealth building; improving your relationships; overcoming procrastination; how to be persistent and get results.

Appropriate for young adult, college and general audiences.

This is one of those books that seems to come into the hands of just the person who really needs it. I get numerous calls and letters from readers who got the book at just the right time in their lives. Some of the things they had to say about the book are:

* Jeff Y., North Carolina - "I believe that if I continue to use your book as my guide I will get out of first gear and into HIGH gear!!"

* Michael R. White, Mayor of the City of Cleveland, Ohio - "From what I have read so far, the book does a good job covering the steps we must embrace to become successful. The book will be a positive addition to my library and a useful resource."

* George C. Fraser, bestselling author of Race for Success: The Ten Best Business Opportunities for Blacks in America - "No book says it better or simpler than The Golden12, which puts the principles for success at your fingertips. A must read for everyone

* William Reed, publisher, Who’s Who in Black Corporate America - "An authoritative guide that can lead to happiness, and a well-organized treatment of basic success principles."

* Multicultural Review - "A frankly popular inspirational book for individuals wanting to change their lives...Combines some of the philosophy of Dale Carnegie and Norman Vincent Peale...with tips for success and advice on constantly keeping the concept and vision of success in mind."

* Lee Green, Executive Director, National Black Business Trade Association - "Required reading for our membership of over 15,000 African-American entrepreneurs and business owners. Anyone seeking to succeed in business or life should read this book."

About the Author

Herbert Harris entered Columbia University in New York City after his junior year of high school. He received a special scholarship to attend Columbia College without first completing high school. Graduating from Columbia with a degree in physics, Mr. Harris majored in nuclear physics and did research on high energy particles.

With a keen interest in music, he became a performer, songwriter, music publisher, record producer and manager. He worked with such well known groups as the Dixie Hummingbirds and The Finishing Touch.

Mr. Harris teamed up with Lucien Farrar to write How To Make Money In Music, a highly popular guide book to the music industry published by Arco/Prentice Hall. This industry bible is in most public libraries and is a part of the library collection of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.

Under the tutelage of distinguished attorney Benjamin Sneed, Herbert taught himself law and passed the New York State Bar Examination without ever attending law school. He is probably the last person admitted to practice law in New York State under the "Clerkship Law," since it was changed shortly after he qualified.

While a practicing attorney, Mr. Harris wrote Thoughts For Success, a weekly nationally syndicated newspaper column. He also taught Achievement Motivation, a personal skills development course he designed, at a number of New York City colleges. Moving away from the legal profession, Herbert studied under Dr. Frederick Eikerenkoetter (Rev. Ike) and became the Director of the Science of Living Institute in New York City.

Presently Mr. Harris divides his time between writing "Thoughts For Success," his weekly newspaper column, speaking at colleges and universities, and conducting LifeSkills Seminars Workshops and Lectures.
