In 1995 he received the USTA Florida Section’s ‘Jim Martz Award for Media Excellence’ for his coverage of Florida tennis. He is the regional vice-president of the United States Tennis Writers Association. Branham lives in Bradenton, Florida, with his wife Catherine and four children. Bud Collins, is a sports columnist for the Boston Globe and a tennis commentator for NBC. He was a sports commentator for PBS from 1963 to 1988, and has at various times analysed tennis for CBS, ESPN, USA, CBN, MSG, and HBO. "
Synopsis:
This tennis biography of Pete Sampras follows him as he prepares for the Grand Slam tournaments and for his matches with other great tennis players, including Andre Agassi. It reveals what really goes on between Agassi and Sampras off court, and Sampras' emotional turmoil as his coach, Tim Gulikson, fought cancer. It also tells of the importance of his relationship with Delaina Mulcahy, with whom he shares a home, and compares Sampras' game, stroke-by-stroke, with the greatest tennis players of all time.
