In this book I study the biblical wisdom books, Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Sirach, Wisdom of Solomon and the gospels, asking what each text considers worth learning (curriculum), how it seeks to evoke that learning in readers (method), and why it does it that way (aim and rationale). I must admit I was often quite surprised at the pedagogical insight these ancient texts display - wise teaching indeed!
