Over fifty hikes
This was the first ever Bradt guide, published in 1974 because I wanted to share the delights of hiking in South America with other travellers. In the foreword I wrote: "Hiking in Peru and Bolivia provides a truly unique perspective on a wonderful continent which is full of natural beauty, adventure and hospitality." For the 7th edition I describe over 50 hikes varying from half-day walks to week-long treks across the Andes. All give an unrivalled view of landscapes, people, wildlife and Inca or pre-Inca ruins which can only be seen on foot.
