Sports in the 20th Century takes a decade by decade look at the sporting events and heroes of the twentieth century. A nation is known by its sports, and America, perhaps more than any other country, is deeply fascinated with the personalities that make up its favorite teams and players.
Sports in the 20th Century covers everything from baseball to the Olympics and everyone from Babe Ruth to Billie Jean King to Michael Jordan. Various sporting issues from the baseball betting scandals and strikes that have plagued America's beloved pastime over the years, to the recent technological advancements that have affected the increase of both the athletic finesse and financial gain of such sports as tennis and track, are also covered here.
