NOTE: We've released a new edition of Great Sedona Hikes, the 5th Edition. Our 5th Edition contains over 100 hiking trails and loop hikes. It is bigger, better and it costs less than the 4th Edition. Great Sedona Hikes Revised 5th Edition is available now and we encourage you to check it out. This 4th Edition is up-to-date. We updated it in January 2019 but the 5th Edition contains more hikes.

This Fourth Edition is a complete update and expansion of Great Sedona Hikes, Third Edition. We've added several new trails just recently opened by the Forest Service. It now includes 65 of Sedona's greatest trails and loops and includes many new photos, updated trail descriptions, more-detailed maps including cumulative ascent data and trail elevation profiles. It includes estimated hiking times, trail popularity and QR Code Technology with links to additional color photos for each of the 65 included hikes. Even though we've released the 5th Edition, we are keeping the Fourth Edition updated. For example, the Fourth Edition was updated in September, 2018.

Great Sedona Hikes, Revised Fourth Edition contains specific directions and mileage to the trailheads, comprehensive trail descriptions complete with GPS waypoints, and colorful commentary about 65 of the most striking trails, including many trails not found in any other hiking guides. The individual trail maps are based on actual GPS “tracks." For those who new to hiking, we have included hiking tips, Sedona weather information, sunrise/sunset data, and parking pass requirements to help you plan your hikes.

About the Author:

William first visited Sedona in 1989 and knew he had to live there. It took over 10 years to move to Sedona but he finally achieved his dream in 2002. He has hiked Mt. Fuji and the Swiss Alps. He's hiked the walking trails in the UK. But nothing compares to the hiking opportunities in Sedona. He has hiked over 2200 miles on the Sedona hiking trails. He leads a local hiking group every week. By hiking every week he is able to make sure Great Sedona Hikes is up to date. David was a music professor and associate dean of the College of the Arts at a major midwestern university until he retired in 2003. After moving to Sedona, he began hiking with a local hiking group. He is an enthusiastic photographer, and he has hiked over 100 trails in the Sedona area.
