Synopsis

My Dad served in World War I and came home a disabled Veteran. We scratched out a living in the cotton fields of West Texas and eleven of us thirteen kids survived. Despite our hardships and losses we were comforted by the love of our mother and one another and we learned to use a unique sense of humor to buffer the adversities of our lives. As adults we were scattered in the wind yet we all wanted to make our Mama and Daddy proud. But as kids, we also wanted to have our fun. That is where it came about that we decided "After all, ALL little brothers are good for something."

About the Author:

Travis C. (Os) Hooser was born and raised in West Texas during the dirty thirties and wartime forties.He learned how to lead his little brothers and sisters in the cotton fields at an early age in order for the family to survive. In later years he married and took care of his own family in southern New Mexico. There he continued his leadership skills while leading volunteers to build a church and then remodel and build a new softball field complex. He also built four homes for his family. At the age of eighty-eight now, he is still wishing he could start a new project.
