About the Author:
Raised in Hell's kitchen, Dr. Lou Theodore is a Cooper Union/NYU graduate with multiple degrees in engineering. During his 50+ year career at Manhattan College (MC), he was primarily responsible for MC’s chemical engineering program being ranked second-best in America by U.S. News & World Report. Basketball, however, remains Lou’s passion. He coached an Astoria-based basketball team (Killeen’s Tavern) during the fabulous 1950s-60s. Several of his players graduated to the NBA. Others enjoyed successful coaching careers at the collegiate and pro levels. A prolific writer, Lou has published over 100 books and presented over 200 seminars. He covers Hofstra basketball for several Long Island newspapers, while disturbing the peace in his tongue-in-cheek column, "As I See It”. When he is not writing his next book or “telling it like it is” in his newsletters (www.theodorenewsletter.com), Lou is betting horses, sharing a meal or vacation with his Killeen’s crew, or enjoying his family (wife: Mary; children: Georgeen, Molleen, and Patrick; and grandchildren: Elias, Julian, and Lila).
