This book is me standing out front to make a statement that protects the city I live in. It's as simple as that. I could have chosen to sit on the side and watch the world change in front of me. But instead, I decided to help change my community. This book contains my words of understanding based on cited news reports. It takes a complicated controversial subject and puts sense to the understanding of the damaging effects casinos can have on our communities. Because Western, Massachusetts is the first to issue a gaming license and it is close to Connecticut's casinos, I refer mostly to the impact of Casinos to this region. The information and concepts presented apply to anywhere in the United States.

David K. Ewen, M.Ed. is a professor, author, speaker, talk show host, film producer, and publisher. He is the founder of Ewen Prime Company and has been in media production since 1994. In 2004, he founded Forest Academy and has toured the seven states of New York and New England on entrepreneurial studies. David is a consulting professor at the Saylor Academy in Washington, D.C. and linguistics professor in Tokyo, Japan.
