Following the traumatic events of the previous fall -- when natural disasters forever changed the landscape of Chicago -- Alessio finds himself getting on with his life, just glad to be alive. He has his family, his beautiful wife DeDe Jakande-Magarelli, and his protective feline, Asaad. His song-writing block lifted, he's enjoying success writing his own music at long last. Sol, his mentor and owner of the ill-fated Twilight Time Lounge has plans for a new club, and Al's life is full of anticipation. The only hitch on that front is the auditioning and hiring a new chanteuse. In spite of his usually kind nature and having not gotten over the loss of his beloved friend Connie Denari, Alessio goes on the defensive. Things heat up when Al begins to pick up on images of violent serial murders occurring in the wounded remains of the city -- vicious bloody attacks leaving the psychic reeling in the wake of their violence. Being who he is, he voluntarily begins to work with police detectives to help capture the killer thus putting himself in the role of 'target'. It's a race to see which will crack first: the case or Alessio Magarelli.

About the Author:
PJ Morvant-Alexander was born in New Iberia, Louisiana circa 1947. She grew up outside of New Orleans; an area rich with history, ghosts, voodoo, legends of werewolves and vampires and even the occasional U.F.O. sighting. There's little wonder why, having been raised in such a deliciously mystical culture, she would be entirely at home writing about the fantastic and the paranormal. PJ spent the first eighteen years of her life in Hurricane Alley and, in spite of being struck by lightning in her early teens, has a deep and abiding love of raging storms – the meaner the better. Her eclectic Sagittarian tastes embrace the arts, theater and music, cooking, crafts, cats, and she gravitates to everything arcane and bizarre. PJ is an artist who’s focus is the whimsical and fantastic. She loves watching others enjoy the products of her imagination. In addition to writing contemporary thrillers, she is an active member of the Steampunk culture, being particularly fond of the unusual and darker side of the Victorian era and the clockwork inventions of that time period. Add to this the fact that she is owned by an obnoxious-but-loveable feline and you have the whole picture -- odd though it may be.
