About the Author:
El Doctor César Garcés nació en Lima Perú. El sexto de ocho hermanos. Su carrera professional empezó en la Universidad San Martín de Porres en 1973, en el Programa de Psicología (Lima-Perú). En 1975 viaja a los Estados Unidos donde ingresa al Southwestern College en Winfield, Kansas. En 1979 obtiene el Título de B.A. en Psicología y Trabajo Social. En 1983 ingresa a la Fordham University-School of Social Work en New York City, New York. En 1985 obtiene el Título de MSW. En 1997 ingresa a la Yeshiva University (WURSWEILER School of Social Work). En 2002 obtiene el Título de Doctor en Social Welfare. En 2007, receive el Reconocimiento al "Mejor Trabajador Social" del Departamento de Medicina del Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. En 2008, fué incluído en el Cambridge "Who is Who" entre Profesionales de Salud de los Estados Unidos. En 2012, es incluído en The Latino-American "Who is Who" En 2013, receive el reconocimiento del "Latino Task Force" de la Ciudad de New York. Trabajó en el Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center desde 1989 hasta 2013: Salas de Emergencia (adultos y niños), Cuidados Intensivos, Medicina General, Neonatal. Además se desempeña como psicoterapeuta (en práctica privada) en el Queens Neuropsychiatric Institute, Jackson Heights-Queens, New York, desde 1989 hasta el presente, al igual que en el Community Counseling- Center Moriches, New York. En 2013, publicó su libro en Inglés "Social Work in the Hospital Setting-Interventions" así como también ha publicado varios artículos acerca de "Trabajo Social" en España y en América Latina. También ha participado en Conferencias Internacionales de Trabajo Social en Perú, Chile, y Ecuador. El Doctor Garcés tiene vasta experiencia en Centros de Salud y Salud Mental, así como también tiene experiencia con personas de diferentes grupos étnicos y multiculturales.
