About the Author:
Scott Houston’s writing credentials span over 30 years. Honed in sports journalism, his current writing style blends the elements of facts colored with the elements of visual story-telling. The earliest flair and passion for writing was revealed in poetry and song when Houston won a poetry contest and recorded music while in high school. In his twenties, Houston sold several freelance articles, wrote for five newspapers and eventually found himself in Boston covering professional and amateur sports as the Managing Editor of a sports magazine. From Boston then next to New Hampshire, Houston worked as a Sports Information Director and concurrently taught journalism as his articles found the pages of the Boston Globe and the Manchester Union newspapers. California called in the mid-80’s and Houston found another life’s passion. Houston was hired as a caddie at Pebble Beach and eventually served as Arnold Palmer’s caddie for four years and in 2002, was inducted into the Professional Caddie’s Association Hall of Fame. Houston’s newspaper background, inspired by the world of “caddiedom,” translated into a weekly golf column in Florida and to published articles that appeared in nationally distributed magazines including Sports Illustrated. Born in Norwalk, CT and “educated” in Westport, CT, Houston now resides in Roseville, CA with a herd of hummingbirds, absolutely no cats, and his wife, Robin, the first girl he ever kissed and to whom this book is dedicated.
