Since 2000, countries across Africa have maintained over a decade of unprecedented economic expansion in a phenomena known as 'Africa rising'. Hany Besada is a Regional Advisor, African Mineral Development Centre, UN Economic Commission for Africa and Research Professor, Institute of African Studies, Carleton University, Canada.
