The impact of outside events, such as civil war, plague and the world wars, are also explored in this fascinating insight into the history of the west London borough.

About the Author:

Dr Oates has been Borough Archivist for Ealing since 1999 and has had over twenty books published, including seven on Ealing local history. He received his PhD in History from the University of Reading in 2001.
