When Carol Franz's husband retired from Lockheed-Martin, she anticipated spending her golden years on a warm beach with a margarita and a good book. Instead, she found herself battling multiple myeloma, an insidious form of bone marrow cancer. Her doctors suggested an adult stem cell transplant to regenerate her blood stream and immune system. Carol, a devout Catholic and pro-life advocate, agreed to the treatment even though she had never heard of adult stem cell therapy although it has been used since the 1960's. When adult stem cells culled from her own body took her from a death bed back to health, she made a decision which she feels was influenced by the Holy Spirit to dedicate her life to helping others. Understanding that adult stem cell therapies work and that no embryos had to die so that she might live was a great influence on her as well. From speaking at small-town Rotary Clubs to standing beside the President of the United States, George W. Bush, as he vetoed a bill that would have permitted the federal tax funding of embryonic research, Carol proves what faith and God's Grace can do. A first time author, Carol J.
