About the Author:

Jeff Lucia has taught mathematics in independent schools since 1978, and for over twenty years has been at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since 1989, he has worked for the College Board as a reader and table leader for the examination grading in AP Calculus and AP Statistics. In 1992, he was a founding member of the board of directors for the North Carolina Association of Advanced Placement Mathematics Teachers (NCA PMT), where he serves as membership chairman. He was recognized in 2004 by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics as North Carolina Teacher of the Year for Independent Schools.
