Searching for God's Love is the story of Dawud's discovery of God's love. A young boy, Dawud, goes looking for God's love. Wearing a special hat and a coat with lots of pockets, Dawud recruits his dog Snoopy to become a detective with him. The two search among the pots and pans in the kitchen. God's love is not there. They peer under the bed. God's love is not there. They inspect the backyard looking for God's love, but it's not there either. "Oh, Droopy, I am a terrible detective. I don't know where God's love is," said Dawud. "Would you like some help?" Dad asks. When Dawud says yes, the three of them begin to discover God's love in the most surprising places. As the boy discovers God's love, he tucks a reminder of that place into one of his pockets. The next Sunday he takes those objects from his pockets and shares what he has learned with his friends in at church. Dawud has become a true detective of God's love. Authors Pat Holt and Robyn Vander Weide have included a "Did the Children Get It?" feature at the end of the story to help teachers and parents determine the level of understanding the children have of the story. Questions are arranged in an ascending order of thinking skills and will help children apply the story's biblical principles to their daily life.
