About the Author:

VITTORIO BOSCIA (MA; PhD) is a full professor in Banking at University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), Faculty of Economics 'Antonio de Viti de Marco'. He holds a B.Sc. (Economics) degree from the University of Bari (Italy), and a MA and a PhD from the University of Wales, Bangor (UK). He is also member of the Ph.D in Banking and Finance academic board at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He is Visiting Researcher at the School for Business and Regional Development, University of Wales, Bangor (UK). Author of a number of articles on several topics: structure and efficiency of banking systems, small and cooperative banks, regulation. At present, he is researching in the area of Corporate Banking, Project Financing and Public Finance.

ALESSANDDRO CARRETTA is full professor in Financial markets and institutions and Director of Ph.D Program in Banking and Finance at University of Rome 'Tor Vergata'. He has been teaching Banking and Finance for more than 25 years, formerly at the Universities of Urbino, Lecce, Milan Bocconi. His main research interest relates to banking management, focussing on banking groups and diversification; regulation and control; corporate governance, culture and organizational change in banks. He has widely published in this area more than 100 books and articles in academic journals. Prof. Carretta is member of committees and boards of several journals, research bodies and financial institutions.

PAOLA SCHWIZER is full professor of Banking at University of Parma and Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan. She is author of several publications in the fields of Banking strategies and organization, Corporate governance and internal control systems of financial institutions, Regulation and competition in the financial system, Corporate banking and financial services for SME, Value creation in banks and other financial institutions
