LESSIE JO FRAZIER is Assistant Professor of History and Women's Studies at the University of South Carolina.

JANISE HURTIG is Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

ROSARIO MONTOYA DEL SOLAR is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Western Michigan.

All received Ph.D.s from the University of Michigan, a program know for strong Latin Americanist anthropology, and have published a number of articles.
