SAKI DOCKRILL is Professor of Contemporary History and International Security, at King's College London, UK. Previously, she was a John M. Olin Fellow at Yale University, USA, and recently a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Nobel Institute, Norway. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and an Associate Fellow of the Institute for the Study of the Americas, University of London, and has written extensively on defence and security relations in Europe, USA and Asia in the Cold War. Her main publications include Eisenhower's New Look National Security Policy (1996), Britain's Retreat from East of Suez: The Choice between Europe and the World? (2002) and The End of the Cold War Era: The Transformation of the Global Security Order (2005). She is currently working on 'Intervention' and 'Global Peacemakers'.
GERAINT HUGHES is a Lecturer at the Defence Studies Department, King's College London, teaching at the Joint Services Command and Staff College at Shrivenham, UK and is currently completing a monograph on Anglo-Soviet relations in the 1960s.
