Die beherrschenden Höhen an der Grenze, so wie das zur Vertheidigung günstige Defile daselbst sind im Besitze der Montenegriner, während Österreich nicht einen F nss breit Raum besitzt, um auf dem steilen Abhang seines Se bietes irgend eine Grenzsperre etabliren zu können. Da man sich auf diesem hoben Grenzpunkte kaum 500 Klafter in horizontaler Richtung von Cattaro entfernt befindet, so ist es begreiflich, dass diese Festung gegen einen An griff von jener Seite nicht leicht haltbar ist, namentlich da unsere Nachbarn bereits mit Geschützen ausgerüstet sind.
