La primera edición de la historia DE los heterodoxos espanoles consta de tres volúmenes, publicados desde 1880 á 1882 Con haber sido la tirada de cuatro mil ejemplares, cifra que rara vez alcanzan en Espana las obras de erudición, no tardó mucho en agotarse, y es hoy una rareza biblio gráfica, lo cual, como biblióñlo que soy, no deja de envanecerme, aunque ninguna utilidad me proporcione. Los libreros se hacen pagar a alto precio los pocos ejemplares que caen en sus manos, y como hay añcionados para todo, hasta para las cosas caras, han llegado á venderse á 25 duros los tres tomos en papel ordinario y á 50 ó más los pocos que se tiraron en papel de hilo.
