Excerpt from Motivation of R and D Entrepreneurs: Determinants of Company Success
The major personality variable of interest in the present study was need for achievement. The specific aim was to test Mcclellands macro theory of economic growth at the micro level of organizational perfor mance. There seemed little doubt, in view of the existing body of prior research, that Mcclelland's version of the Thematic Apperception Test provided a reliable means of measuring the personality trait.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book draws a connection between entrepreneurial success and complex personality dynamics. The author analyzed 18 small tech companies, focusing on the role of three key personality traits: need for achievement (n-ach), need for power (n-pow), and need for affiliation (n-aff). While the study found n-aff to be unrelated to company performance, it revealed a complex relationship between n-ach and n-pow. High n-ach was found to be crucial for high performance, and moderate n-pow was more favorable than either high or low n-pow. The author suggests that the interaction of these needs may determine a formula for business success, emphasizing the significance of understanding the underlying psychological factors that influence entrepreneurial performance.
