Synopsis

Excerpt from The Flood of Thessaly: The Girl of Provence; And Other Poems The reader will consider the first Poem in this volume ("The Flood of Thessaly") as a sketch only of the great event which desolated the earlier world. Having abandoned my original intention of publishing a more elaborate Poem on this subject, I am only induced to mention the fact here, in order to account for the chasms which occur, in one or two instances, in the present production. - All reference to the Mosaic account of the Deluge has been purposely avoided. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book of poetry ranges across vast themes of love, loss, and the human condition. The author, a skilled weaver of words, explores both ancient tales and personal experiences to capture the essence of humanity. Beginning with the classical myth of Deucalion and Pyrrha, the reader is immersed in a world of gods and nature, where the boundaries between the two blur. The author's command of language brings mythical figures to life, making this collection both a journey through human history and a meditation on the agelessness of the human experience. The result is a timeless and evocative work that contemplates the beauty and fragility of life. Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
