Three other little bareheaded children standing in the snow without shoes or substantial clothing to keep out the intense cold, were blinded by hailstone, threw themselves under the skirts of their mother's gown for shelter, and were sobbing and weeping intensely. A little child, about nine months old, was wrapped up in a blanket in the arms of his sister. The police appeared to be visibly moved.
