Comp., also, as to N.iii and the difference between this chapter and N.i,ii,iv, Bleek, p.284,285; yet mention is continually made in these chapters also of ' Aaron and his sons,' of the 'Tabernacle of the Congregation,' &c. But especially the Book of Deuteronomy comes here under consideration. That 1t professes to have been written by Moses,--that the Conquest of Canaan is set forth continually in it as future,--is obvious, and is admitted by BtEEK, p.307, and elsewhere. Yet he assumes, p.303--and on very good grounds--that the whole Book was written under Manasseh. Does it not follow from this, that the circumstances of the Mosaic time, the local colouring, &c., may very well belong to the clothing of any particular law, and that we are thus not justified in deducing its age alone, or chiefly, from this? (iii) Besides, Bleek, in order to maintain his views with reference to the Mosaic origin of these laws, L.i-vii,&c'. is obliged to have recourse to very improbable auxiliary suppositions. He regards, for instance, E.xxv-xxxi as genuine Mosaic p.193,194,&c. It cannot, however, escape his notice, that there exists a discrepancy between these chapters,--viewed in connection with E.xxxv-xl,--and E.xxxiii.7-ll; see note"'. This gives him occasion to suppose that E.xxv-xxxi, and especially E.xxxv-xl, are placed too early, and that in E.xxxiii.7-ll mention is made of another 'Tabernacle of the Congregation,' which was not superseded, until the later years of the march through the wilderness, by the splendid Tabernacle, described in E.xxv,xxvi,xxxv,xxxvi. For confirmation of this conjecture he appeals to E.xxvii.21,xxix.42,44,xxx.36, where the name '...
