The Keeper of the west part of the Chase appeared by his deputy, and having been sworn, presented nothing, but that all is well. 2. The Keeper of the east part of the Chase appeared and having been sworn &c. 3. The Riding Forester appeared &c. 4. West Buckden.--The Foresters appear, and having been sworn, present that Walter Frye, of Guncoyte, several times in the last summer, agisted with three hundred sheep, within the Chase of our Lady the Queen, in the coppice under Burchhill, in consumption of the herbage and destruction of the shoot, in prejudice of the Lady and the Deer. Therefore let him be distrained before the next Court. And that Margery Bernard, of Chettle, widow, hath withdrawn an ancient due payable from time beyond memory, viz., yearly, one quarter of wheat, one quarter of barley, and one of oats, and certain hens, from the Ranger and Foresters, to the great detriment of the officers, and prejudice of our Lady the Queen, therefore let her be distrained. 5. East Buckden.--The Foresters appear and present that John Swayne, of Woodcotes, in the fence-month last past, broke and entered the coppice called Lorden-Hall, and led a therefrom one plough colt, which had been distrained by the Forester, contrary to the custom of the Chase &c, therefore let him be distrained. And that Henry Langford, of Woodyates, hath this year withdrawn certain grain due of old time, payable yearly to the Foresters, viz., six bushels of wheat, and on every Friday, weekly, refreshment for the Ranger and four persons, to the great prejudice of our Lady the Queen, and the great detriment of the officers of the Chase....
