Excerpt: ... PROCEEDINGS OF THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE American Homoeopathic Ophthalmological, Otological and Laryngological Society. Held 1n Ch1cago, June 27-29, 1905, The Eighteenth Annual meeting of this Society was called to order by the President, Dr. R. S. Copeland, in the banquet hall of the Auditorium Hotel, at 10 A. M., Tuesday, June 27th. President Copeland: In spite of the small attendance I think that in justice to the program that has been so carefully prepared, we should begin our work on time. I suggest as a means of preventing confusion that it would be well for all speakers to give their names before making any remarks. I also want to say that the Secretary is provided with application blanks, which I would like to see filled at this meeting. There are a number of specialists in Chicago, members of our school, who are not members of our society; it would be a good thing for all concerned for them to apply for membership. If there is no objection we will consider as adopted the printed program. Secretary Wells: In reviewing the amendment made at the last meeting to the standing resolution on nomination of officers, I have been in doubt as to its exact meaning. When I voted in favor of that amendment last year, I did not intend that it should in the least curtail the prerogative of the committee of ex-presidents, or that the recommendations of the five members were to deprive the committee of its P. 14, Trans., 1904. right to make selections of its own. I should have voted against the action had I thought such was the case. The amendment, as it stands on our records, is on the printed slip which I have put on the chairs. As a substitute I propose the following: Resolved, Any five members in good standing may present in writing to this committe...
