About the Author
Ashbel Green is vice president and senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf, where he has worked since 1964. He is a 1950 graduate of Columbia College and also holds an M.A. in Eastern European History from the university. Green has edited books by George Bush, Walter Cronkite, Andrei Sakharov, and Gabriel Garca Mrquez, among many others.
Charles Buck is widely respected as a practitioner, educator and author in the field of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Originally from a medical science background he became one of the first to practise and teach Chinese herbal medicine in the UK over thirty years ago. He has since gained respect for his knowledge and insight and has made significant contributions to its development in the UK and Europe. Charles is currently Chairman of the British Acupuncture Council.
