In this series of books, we look at the five areas of culture needing solutions that seem to be indicated in the Great Commission found at the end of the Gospels. In Matthew 28 Jesus said to go and "disciple the nations" and in the parallel passage in Mark 16, Jesus mentions five signs that should follow in this mission. Here perhaps He was connecting this final message before His ascension to Moses’ final message to the nation of Israel in Deuteronomy 32. There Moses warned of the problem of demons (vs 17), which was rarely mentioned in most of the Old Testament.
