When a chance encounter with Helen, an attractive art dealer, leads to romance and ultimately marriage, television host Ike Martin finds his life suddenly complete, particularly since his new status also makes him stepfather to two adolescent boys. But uncertainty creeps in when his show is cancelled and Helen spends more and more time in New York and Paris. As Ike unravels a pattern of deception, their younger son disappears into the snowy Sierra Nevada. Called to the rescue, Ike flies west from Massachusetts and drives into the mountains with a most unlikely sidekick, a satyr-philosopher who is just one of the unforgettable characters in this touching, entertaining first novel.

Prior to writing "Ike," Ron McAdow published two books of non-fiction: "The Concord, Sudbury and Assabet Rivers; a Guide to Canoeing, Wildlife and History," and "The Charles River; Exploring History on Foot and by Canoe." Ron is a former teacher and animated film-maker. He produced films for the children’s television programs Jabberwocky and Infinity Factory in the 1970s, as well as two longer stop-action animated films "Hank the Cave Peanut" and "Captain Silas," which are also available on Amazon. He served as Executive Director of Sudbury Valley Trustees, a regional conservation organization, and oversaw the use of technology such as motion-sensing wildlife cameras to help preserve wild animals and their habitat. He lives in Lincoln, MA, with his wife, Betsy Stokey.
