Emma Hart was born in Taihape, New Zealand, and raised in Timaru. She attended the University of Canterbury and gained degrees in English Literature, Playing Cards, Talking Crap and Screwing Up Relationships (Mostly Her Own). Unable or unwilling to hold down a job that involves getting up or getting dressed, she works as an administrator on co-operative writing site Bardic Web, and as a freelance web content writer. She lives in Christchurch with her civil union partner, breeding and raising geeks.
