Doug Gelbert is the author of 35 books, including 17 on hiking with your dog. He formed Cruden Bay Books in 1995 to publish centennial history books of golf & country clubs (Cruden Bay is a golf course in northeast Scotland). Today the company specializes in producing local guides to hiking with your dog with more than 20 in print. Cruden Bay Books also publishes the acclaimed national guide to hiking with your dog, THE CANINE HIKER’S BIBLE. Gelbert also leads hiking tours for people and their dogs between New York and Maryland.
