About the Author:
Born in Moldova in the former Soviet Union, Izolda grew up steeped in the rich musical and magical heritage of Eastern Europe. After her family immigrated to the USA, they settled in Michigan where she graduated from the University of Michigan with an English degree. She worked for the National Geographic Society's Educational Media division and as an environmental educator at NASA. She still sometimes flies around the world as a NASA consultant and Earth Science educator. She released her first book, "Life Elements: Transform Your Life With Earth, Air, Fire, and Water" in 2008. More recently, she combined her love of music, travel, and the mystical and published the first book in the Fairy Godmother Diaries series, "The Fiddler's Talisman" in 2011. Book two of this series, "The Piano's Key," delves more deeply into music, magic, travel, and good old fashioned love. In 2011, she wrote, directed, voiced, and created the movie, "Breathable: NASA Monitors Our Changing Air Quality," for NASA. Earth science and teaching about the Earth are two of Izolda's passions. She spends much of her time as The Earth Lady doing outreach and education in schools all over the world. She practices and teaches yoga and Tai Chi and is a first-degree black belt in aikido. She and her husband reside in Greenbelt, MD with their dog and three cats, and a house full of books, juggling clubs, and musical instruments.
