She is writing under a pseudonym to protect the privacy of her family and, as she says, because "I am only one of hundreds of thousands of stroke survivors every year." Louis R. Caplan, M.D., is one of the nation's leading clinical researchers in the field of stroke and the author of the "American Heat Association Family Guide to Stroke Treatment, Recovery, and Prevention."
