Book Description Softcover. Condition: Good. From the Inside Flap Things have gone from bad to worse. The Tsar, returning from a long campaign against the Orcs of the Blood Plateau, was forced to return home when he fell mysteriously ill. No doctor can heal his ailment. He wastes away, day by day. Even as word of his illness spread, the Tsar's twin sons, Alexi and Dmitri, prepare to make war on each other to take the throne. Each claims to be the eldest - because they are twins, no one knows who really is the eldest heir. The twins refuse to rule in peace. Without an alternative, war is inevitable. The Tsar summoned the most powerful heroes across the land to deal with this problem. And so it has come to pass that you face the Tsar in a meeting so secret that even his guards are ordered to stand outside the door. The Tsar, once a hulking, vigorous man filled with energy, is but a shriveled husk of his old self. His sallow-eyed gaze barely focuses on you as he croaks, "Come closer." "A long time ago," he whispers, closing his eyes for long moments, "my youngest son and wife were killed, murdered, by a scheming devil named Winter. Winter made it look like the boyars did it, to distance my relationship with the nobility. It worked. I lost half my soul that day." He wipes one bony hand across his eyes. "I am dying. There is nothing any healer can do to save me. But you are not here to listen to my past. You are here because I have summoned the greatest bogatyri of the land. I give you just one task." The Tsar's speech is interrupted by a fit of coughing. His pained expression speaks to his agony as each cough wracks his frame. When he finally props himself up one elbow, you can see the desperation in his eyes. "The last healer I saw was an old, withered hag. She told me that my youngest son Ivan lives yet. When I inquired where I would find him, she gave me this wooden ball." "She said, 'Roll this ball before you and it will restore the prince to the throne.'" He reaches beneath his pillow and rolls the ball to the end of the bed. "Take it. Follow it." The Tsar closes his eyes for a long time, long enough that you think he may have fallen asleep. When he finally does open them, his voice is barely audible. "Go. Go quickly. The father waits for his sonthe husband longs to be with his wife." With wooden ball in hand, you are ushered out of the room. Nobles whisper and point as you pass through the great hall, out of the palace, and to your horses. Your mounts are tacked and saddled, your provisions packed. Not a moment is to be wasted. Product Description Peasants and nobles alike are frantic: The Tsar has fallen deathly ill with few viable choices for an heir. Distrustful of his own traitorous sons, the Tsar's death will thrust Torassia into a civil war. But then a rumor surfaces that the Tsar's youngest son, Ivan, still lives. It's up to the PCs to find the young heir before the Tsar's rivals reach him first! The Dancing Hut is a d20 System adventure suitable for characters of 8th-9th level. From the Author The Dancing Hut is the sequel to Tsar Rising. I attempted to fix some of the errors that cropped up in Tsar Rising. For example, The Dancing Hut is modular so that it can be chopped up into segments for use with an existing campaign. The sales of this book will determine if I write a Legendary Lands book about Torassia so buy, buy, BUY!
