He is a contract photographer for Newsweek and his work is widely published by magazines throughout the world including Time, Esquire, German Geo, Stern, Paris Match and the New York Times Magazine. He's also been a participant in a documentary on the Balkans and a French television program on war photographers broadcast on CNN. He's also been exhibited at the United Nations, The Newseum, The Council on Foreign Relations, and the United Nations and his photographs have earned him several World Press, Picture of the Year and Overseas Press Club awards and the Leica Medal of Excellence. He has contributed to several books, including Blood and Honey: A Balkan War Journal, his first book is the result of ten years of Haviv's work in the Balkans.
