This is an action-packed western, adventure, and romance novel. It's a story that centres on a man in search of himself. Zero Smith moves west after the American Civil War, armed with a mean attitude and a fast .44-caliber Remington. Looking for answers and new directions, he takes on many different guises. Smith evolves from a nearly evil gun slick, to become a lightning swift, gun champion of justice, fair play, and human dignity.

Keith Imus is a graduate of the University of Washington where he earned three degrees: a Bachelor of Art, a Master of Art in sculpture, and a Bachelor of Art Education. A former college professor, now retired, he continues to draw, paint, and sculpture. He is a sail-boater, skier, and tennis player. He has written six books: four western novels, a coffee-table book, "IMUS/ ART," and this latest book, a memoir. His drawings and paintings usually deal with the human figure. His sculpture covers a wide range of theme and material from small bronze animal forms to large abstract stainless steel tower constructions and fountains. Some of his more interesting jobs were merchant seaman over much of the world, cow hand in Arizona, horse wrangler in Montana, ranch hand on the largest llama and alpaca ranch in Australia, yacht captain, sailor on the square rigged brig "Lady Washington," and stock market day trading from wherever.
