About the Author:
Barbara Pearl is an international award winning educator and author. She has an M.A. in Education from La Salle University where she received the 2003 Graduate Faculty Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement and Leadership. She also attended schools in England and France. Barbara developed Math in Motion in 1979 while working as a classroom teacher. Her background in elementary education and mathematics inspired her to explore strategies that get students and teachers excited about mathematics and learning.Barbara Pearl obtuvo el grado de maestra en educación de la Universidad de La Salle con mención honorífica y recibió el premio de Excelencia en Alcances y Liderazgo Académicos en 2003. Se graduó de la licenciatura en educación primaria; realizó también cursos especiales en Inglaterra y Francia. Sus antecedents en educación y matemáticas la inspiraron a explorar estrategias que entusiasman a estudiantes y maestros por las matemáticas y el aprendizaje. Desarrolló Matemáticas en Movimiento en 1979, mientras trabajaba como maestra.
